Turmeric Milk – the natural stress buster

Dear Stress,

Lets break up!

…and trust me, it will be a fairy tale break up 🙂
No matter whatever we try, we rarely can set ourselves free from this beast – stress that is 🙂

Growing up in India has its own benifits: introduction to natural and herbal home remedies, is one of them. I remember, I used to drink turmeric milk whenever I was down with fever, cold, sore throat and in I-am-feeling-low days. Turmeric has enormous value in Ayurveda (the age old system of natural healing with herbs) and it has been used as antiseptic, anti depressant et al.

I am showing how to prepare turmeric milk.

You will need:

1 cup milk
1/2 tsp turmeric
2/3 slices of fresh ginger
3/4 pepper corns
3 cardamom pods
And optional saffron with very finely chopped almonds

Bring the milk to boil, add all the ingredients except sugar and simmer for 5 minutes. Strain the milk. Add sugar and saffron if you wish.

Now go and beat the heck out of the stress 🙂
